JPS Dorinda Bennett Named The Arc Volunteer of the Year

Johnson Price Sprinkle PA (JPS) Senior Manager, Dorinda Bennett, received The Arc of Buncombe County’s Outstanding Volunteer Award at The Arc’s Appreciation & Membership Luncheon on June 13, 2016.

An avid volunteer in the community, Dorinda has been involved with The Arc for many years and currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors as Treasurer.   The Arc of Buncombe County serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and was founded over sixty years ago by parents wanting equal opportunities for their children. Today, The Arc is an advocacy organization for all people with I/DD and their family members.

Originally from Western North Carolina, Dorinda has been a volunteer since her Girl Scout days.  In addition to her The Arc voluntarism, she currently serves on Homeward Bound of WNC’s Board of Directors as Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair and is on the Executive Committee.

She began working for JPS after the 2004 merger with Hughes, Hughes & Company, PA, where she started in 1992. She holds a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration/Economics from High Point University.

Dorinda has over twenty years’ experience providing assurance and taxation services, with a primary focus in audit. Her demonstrated work includes agreed upon procedure engagements, nonprofit consulting services reviews, compilations, audits and a wide range of targeted audit services, mostly with not-for-profits and governmental agencies. Dorinda is highly regarded for her skillful approach and genuine interest in her clients.
