JPS supports the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants through recent appointments of Ben Hamrick and Zach Levin to leadership positions. The AICPA consists of over 400,000 members from across the nation while the NCACPA is focused on more specific needs in North Carolina with over 14,000 members. Both organizations are focused on continued professional development, increased accounting standards and financial literacy.

Ben Hamrick, CEO of Johnson Price Sprinkle PA, has been an advocate of the profession demonstrated by involvement with the NCACPA and AICPA for 29 years. Over the years Ben has served the NCACPA holding numerous leadership positions including four years on the Board of Directors, three years on the Executive Committee, Past Treasurer and Past Chair of the Board Audit Committee. Most recently Ben was selected as Chair Elect to the Board of Directors. Ben was appointed to the AICPA Council at the AICPA’s Annual Meeting on September 22nd at Amelia Island, Florida. Ben joined JPS in 1983 and later became CEO in 2008.
Zach Levin was recently appointed to the position of Vice Chair to NCACPA’s Young CPA Cabinet. Zach first became a member of NCACPA in November 2009 and was selected to be a part of an elite group of 24 young professionals on the Young CPA Cabinet in May 2012. The Young CPA Cabinet, comprised entirely of selected NCACPA members under the age of 35, focuses on leadership and professional development. Zach’s major contribution to the Cabinet is student outreach and recruitment. Zach attends and presents at events located on the campuses of Western Carolina University, UNC Asheville and, his alma mater, Appalachian State University where he creates awareness for NCACPA and the Young CPA Cabinet. Zach also serves as the liaison to the NCACPA‘s Western Chapter Board of Directors reporting updates to the Young CPA Cabinet and the Board.
