JPS Announces Two New Shareholders

As JPS continues to grow, we are pleased to announce two new Shareholders, Noel Swartz, CPA, and Sok Heang Cheng, CPA, ABV, CVA, CFF.
Noel Swartz will be Shareholder in the Firm’s Assurance Group. Noel joined JPS in 2013 after more than 20 years working in both public and private accounting with small to middle market companies in various industries. He was an assurance partner in the Boston office of Marcum LLP after working in the Dayton and Pittsburgh offices of Deloitte, and as a controller for a family owned manufacturer in Ohio. His industry experience spans manufacturing and distribution, franchise restaurants, professional services, healthcare, high-technology, real-estate, construction, breweries, co-ops and country clubs. Noel provides a wealth of technical excellence and a genuine client-based approach. As a member of the Assurance Group, Noel focuses on auditing, accounting, agreed upon procedure engagements and related consulting. His effective communication style and comprehensive knowledge make Noel highly valued and respected in the industry.
Noel is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance. He has been a national instructor for Deloitte and was a curriculum designer/instructor for Marcum University. He is a member of AICPA and NCACPA.
Noel resides in Asheville with his wife, and enjoys road cycling, racing cars and playing the guitar.
Sok Heang Cheng is what we might call homegrown in that she started her career with JPS in 1999 as an intern while completing her accounting degree at the University of North Carolina – Asheville. Upon graduation, she joined JPS full time. While working, she continued her graduate studies in accounting at Western Carolina University ultimately receiving her Masters of Accountancy. Sok Heang’s career at JPS has given her opportunities to work in many areas of practice including tax, auditing, accounting and consulting. She will be Shareholder in the Taxation Group and the Consulting Group. As a member of these two practice groups, Sok Heang will focus on tax planning and preparation, estate planning, business valuation and litigation support. Her strong analytical skills combined with her strong interest in helping our clients and colleagues make her a valuable member of the JPS team. Sok Heang is a member of the NCACPA, AICPA and NACVA. In addition to her CPA license, she holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designations from the AICPA and the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the NACVA. Sok Heang resides in Hendersonville enjoys working out at the YMCA.
