Asheville Metro Economic Report 2015 Fourth Quarter
Highlights:
Strong employment growth continues through the fourth quarter of 2015, placing the Asheville metropolitan area as the third fastest growing metro in the state. Job growth broadens to include the majority of industry sectors. The unemployment rate remains lowest among all metros in the state. The Asheville metropolitan area consists of Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Madison counties, with Asheville as its central city.
Monthly year-to-year job growth continues, uninterrupted for five and one-half years. The metro area is up 5,400 more jobs than one-year earlier, earning an average growth rate of 3 percent.
The area’s employment growth rate over the fourth quarter of 2015 places it as third fastest among the state’s 15 metros.
