Ben joined JPS in 1983 and became a shareholder in the firm in 1989. He became managing shareholder in 2006 and was named chief executive officer in 2008. He heads up the business consulting and business valuation services section of JPS. Ben's primary industry experience includes manufacturing, trucking, cooperatives, construction/real estate development, retail/wholesale and professional services.

He received his certification as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in 1986 and later received the following certifications:

• ABV (Accredited Business Valuation)
• CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics)

• CM&AA (Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor)

• CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst)

In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodie, and two children, Calli and Coleman. He also enjoys road cycling (and is a past president of the Asheville Bicycle Racing Club), coaching recreation soccer, photography, traveling the country in an RV and playing the guitar.
